THE DIFFERENCE OF INDUCTION
When you use a Koil Boi to heat up your Dynavap Vaporizer, you’ll notice a couple things that will make going back to combustion a harsh drag, here's a
Conservation. You’ll notice that you’re stretching your stash a lot further, without taking temperatures to the burning point, you can get a lot more of the good stuff out of your good stuff. Depending on your intake, your Koil Boi can pay itself off in its first year of use. And if you enjoy making special treats, we’ve got some great news for you-
Reuse. After your bud goes brown (see our upcoming blog post for details) it can be reused to make budder, stretching your supply even further. Go green by reusing that brown!
Quality. Without combustion, you’re getting unadulterated vaporized flavor. Going back to combusting after using a Koil Boi will taste like drinking dirty pond water- not the nice kind of ponds with water lilies, koi, fountains, and little cherub statues- but the unmanicured ponds that beg the question, “how many dead birds did I just eat?”
Safety. After plugging in your Cloud or Fire, you'll hit the momentary switch to maintain operation. When your Koil Boi is generating an induction field, an LED will transition through a color spectrum starting at red, cycling through green, to blue. This color cycle will let you know how long your bud has been heated, check out our blog for a post detailing this cycle, and how it impacts your experience.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS A KOIL BOI?
A Koil Boi is an induction heating device designed for easy and consistent heating of Dynavap Vaporizers.
HOW DOES INDUCTION HEATING WORK?
The Koil Boi generates a rapidly alternating magnetic field that penetrates the vaporizer, generating electric currents to create heat.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE ☁️, ⛈️, ⚡, & 🔥 MODELS?
the Cloud and Fire are our wall-powered induction heaters, the Spark is a battery pack, and the Storm is our all-in-one battery powered model.
IS THE KOIL BOI BATTERY OPERATED?
The Storm is our all-in-one battery powered unit which uses 3 removable and rechargeable 18650 batteries.
If you'd like to take your Cloud or 2021 Fire on the go, we offer the Spark, so you can enjoy the consistency of a wall-powered unit, or the portability of batteries.
HOW LONG DOES A KOIL BOI TAKE TO HEAT A DYNAVAP VAPORIZER?
Depending on whether or not you’ve chosen the stainless steel or titanium, or whether you’re starting cold or hot, the time to heat takes anywhere from 4-8 seconds. Check out our blog for upcoming studies performed by our diligent team of researchers. Battery operated units may fluctuate in timing based on battery levels.
WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF INDUCTION HEATING COMPARED TO USING A FLAME?
First and foremost, flames are for the birds. They are more cumbersome to heat a Dynavap, can lead to forest fires, and in Greek Mythology, represented the downfall of mankind.
WHAT ARE SHIPPING COSTS/HOW LONG WILL MY KOIL BOI TAKE TO ARRIVE?
Domestic Shipping is free. When shipping outside the USA, we use the United States Post Office, the added cost of international shipping is $50. We are a small business, and we'll be one year old this June. Most purchases are made to order, but we've been trying very hard to get ahead of demand. Most orders ship less than a week after purchase, and a tracking number is sent via email when we ship.
WHY IS THERE A CABOCHON INSIDE OF THE COIL BELOW THE GLASS?
It is important that your Dynavap Vaporizer rests at a certain depth into your Koil Boi, we use a cabochon on top of a wood stopper because the glass and wood isn’t conductive, and it doesn’t heat up as a result of induction field generated. Models shipped after February 2021 include the epoxied cabochon on the wood stopper.
WHAT IS THE SMALL DISC OF METAL ON THE TOP OF THE KOIL BOI FOR?
That's a diametric magnet, a place to put your Dynavap Vaporizer on for cooling after use. Some competitors are using axial magnets, which make it nearly impossible to stand up straight and centered.
HOW DO I CHARGE THE STORM/SPARK?
When plugged into the charger (and when the charger is plugged into the outlet), there is a status indicator LED that will either be RED (charging), GREEN (charged), or BLINKING RED (batteries improperly installed).
